Why not gear up and try out some of these beautiful walking trails near our shop in Galway?
- Coole Park - Garryland Nature Reserve
Bordering Coole Lough near Gort in County Galway, Coole Park - Garryland Nature Reserves offers several easy to moderate walking trails to be explored. The beautiful trails range from 1.75km to 10.8km in distance, allowing you to tailor the experience to suit your preference. There is parking at both ends of the Nature Reserve making it easily accessible.
- Portumna Forest Park
Starting and finishing in the Forest Park Car Park, there are multiple trail options. to lead you on an adventure. If you follow the path for the Rinmaher Walking Trail you can enjoy a beautiful 10km walk through the Portumna Forest Park. Not far from the park lies Portumna Castle and Gardens where you can enjoy a nice meal after your walk.
- Diamond Hill
Located in Connemara National Park, Diamond Hill is a moderate to moderately challenging trail that presents you with magnificent views from the top. The trails are well marked and allow you to choose between loops consisting of 1.5km to 7km.
- Galway Wind Way
Take a walk amongst the wind turbines. Tucked up in the hills just outside of Oughterard sits the Galway Wind Park. There are multiple moderate walking trails that range from 200m to 11km. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of the turbines turning while exploring the trails.
Before every adventure, make sure you have the appropriate equipment and are taking the necessary precautions to stay safe. We are fortunate to have such beautiful walking trails on our doorstep.
