- High visibility
- Extremely lightweight
- Ideal for training and events
- This inflatable tow-float includes a leash and waist strap. It is bright and is recommended for open water swimmers in all bodies of water to increase visibility to other open water users.
The tow-float has a double airbag system which is easily inflated. The adjustable belt design clips securely around the swimmer's waist and the leash ensures that the product remains out of swim stroke range whilst swimming and is very low drag (you generally don't notice it is there). If you need to rest you can hold onto the float and it will easily support an adult's weight.
This float is perfect for bodies of water where there are boat users to make the swimmer more visible. It's also ideal for groups of swimmers so you can be easily seen from the shore or in the water by fellow swimmers. The tow-float is recommended for taking children into the open water, as you can spot them very quickly and they can hold onto the Swim Secure tow-float if they need a rest.
In the annual Chillswim Coniston event all 750 swimmers use the Swim Secure tow-float for the 5.25 mile length of lake swim. The tow-float makes it very easy for the water safety team to see the swimmers, even in choppy water, and can be used by swimmers in wetsuits or non-wetsuits.
Highly recommended for open water swimmers in all outdoor conditions and recommended by the Lake District National Park Authority for safer open water swimming.
Size before inflating: 39cm x 25cm
Please note, this is not a buoyancy aid, it does not give any buoyancy whilst swimming. The tow-float floats behind the swimmer on a short leash.
We hope that the following information will help you get the most out of your products. However this is only a general guide please refer to wash care advice given on individual products before washing or cleaning them.
To get the most out of your waterproof outerwear, you must keep it clean. The following is basic information on cleaning procedures. Always read any garment's care label before laundering.
Most waterproof outerwear can be machine washed and dried. Use powdered detergent or a specialist waterproof washing detergent and cold or warm water to wash these garments.
Maintain your product by cleaning regularly. Dirt and mud should be brushed off once it has dried naturally. Wipe with a clean damp cloth if necessary. Never wash in the washing machine. Immersion and exposure to detergents can attack the stitching and bonding agents within the product.
Dry slowly using natural air circulation at room temperature; do not subject the product to a direct heat source. Paper can be used to stuff the product in the drying process to help absorb moisture and maintain the shape of the product.
If you have purchased a waterproof product, the leather must regularly be treated with waterproofing and conditioning sprays or creams. Used in wet conditions the leather will experience a gradual loss of its water resistant qualities, and if untreated the leather will slowly harden and crack.
Occasional users should rinse with freshwater after each use and hang dry on a special wetsuit hanger, or a ladies padded hangar. Frequent users should rinse with fresh water and occasionally use a capful of wetsuit shampoo. Be sure to store your wetsuit properly. Dents and creases could become permanent and result in loss of insulation. The best way to store your wetsuit is to lay it flat, or hanging from a wetsuit hanger.
